The standing mobiles: the series of “ Tribute to…”

The stabile series

A stabile is a free standing mobile. This series is an homage to the artists who inspire Christel.
The starting point was to make geometric shapes move in space, using a structure in equilibrium, different to the one Christel uses for her large mobiles.
She wanted to work with brass and precious materials such as gold and palladium.
Thanks to the use of aluminium in her mobiles, they are physically and aesthetically light, hence their poetic impact.
With these stabiles, she gave herself the challenge to deliver the same poetic impact, not through lightness but with high-density materials.
Christel also like the idea of interactivity which is more present with a stabile than with a mobile.
