THE SERIES OF “TRIBUTE TO …”
A stabile is a mobile to be posed. This series is a tribute to the artists who inspire Christel.
The initial idea was to set geometric shapes in motion in space, thanks to a balanced structure different from the one she uses for her large mobiles.
She wanted to work with brass and precious decorations like gold and palladium.
Thanks to the use of aluminum in her mobiles, they are physically and aesthetically light, hence the impression of poetry.
With these stabiles, Christel had given herself the challenge of making this same poetic impression, not through lightness but with high density materials.
Moreover, Christel Sadde likes the idea of interactivity more present with a stabile than with a mobile.

THE CULBUTOS
Christel Sadde’s creations around the idea of a “culbuto” are the continuity of her research work on the balance and simplicity of geometric forms in space.
From a traditional toy, she created a sober, elegant and interactive sculpture
- Sober: only one shape used, “the round”, in volume or flat.
- Elegant: thanks to the satin brushed brass and natural leather
- Interactive: Christel always likes the idea of movement and here she brings noise as a surprise.
The technical realization of the”Culbuto” was possible thanks to Marc Miniussi, ingenious sculptor.

THE WILD GRASS
This sculpture was born very naturally and a little by chance, by dint of handling flexible rods to make Christel’s large mobiles. Its name “Les Herbes Folles” came as an evidence. It is her first non-suspended sculpture. It is poetic and delicate, representing a subtle disorder impossible to solve. She caresses herself and with joy the grasses move, sway and eventually return to their place.

THE WATER LILY
While Christel Sadde was manipulating the stainless steel rods for her new creation, the Peacock Sun, they unfolded by chance, giving in their curvature a 3D volume effect. Metallic petals then appeared to her. Obviously she had in front of her a flower and more precisely a water lily. Like the peacock, this aquatic plant offers itself to the eye with majesty, symmetry and tranquility.

THE PEACOCK SUN
This creation was born out of Christel Sadde’s admiration for the peacock and its fan-like feather pattern since her childhood. The use of gold leaf echoes the precious and silky side of the feathers and pays tribute to this almost dreamlike creature.

PAIR OF LIGHTED WALL SCULPTURES
The idea of these luminous sculptures came to Christel Sadde following the discovery of a curious instrument called “conformateur”. This instrument consists of small metal rods that slide on a central axis. It remained with her until the design of these luminous sculptures.
In their geometric shapes and use of the same materials – stainless steel, brass and mirrored aluminum – they echo the aerial universe of the artist’s mobiles.
But with the added bonus of light!
